The Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) Computer Science Syllabus is a 2-Unit course with each unit containing three modules. (CXC, 2008) It has been stated that it provides persons with advanced knowledge, skills and attitudes to enable them to understand the uses and the impact of computer technologies, and to use the technology to create new computer applications for all areas of human activity. Along with the syllabus, this site provides opportunity for the acquisition of knowledge, skills and attitudes as preparation for further studies in Computer Science and the world of work. Some of the aims of this site are as follows: • to equip students with the skills to assess the scope, role, benefits and limitations of computers, through a study of a broad range of applications; • to develop problem solving skills, using the computer and computer-related technologies as tools; and • to assist students in adapting to life in a world characterized by rapid scientific and technological change.
